line

Organized in 1993 and associated with the University of Texas at Austin, Process Industry Practices (PIP) is a separately funded initiative of the Construction Industry Institute. Member companies pay annual dues and provide active members to the PIP Steering Team and at least one Function Team. Member companies fall into two categories -- owners and contractors. PIP Practices are developed using member expertise and non-proprietary member standards. While influenced by the member companies in the process industry, PIP Practices also have uses in pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, and power industries.

The benefits from voluntarily adopting and using PIP Practices include cost savings and improved quality. PIP Practices are useful for contractors, manufacturing facility owners, those responsible for manufacturing operations and maintenance, individuals and businesses engaged in the in the areas of design, procurement, and construction for manufacturing facilities.
